Mumbai- A Home to All Religions!

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Mandir:

This is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Ganesha. It is located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. It is one of the richest temples in India.

A small mandap in the temple houses Siddhi Vinayak's shrine ("Ganesha who grants your wish"). Images of the Ashtavinayak are etched on the wooden sanctuary doors (the eight manifestations of Ganesha in Maharashtra). The central Ganesha idol and the inner dome of the sanctum are covered with gold plating. Additionally, there is a Hanuman temple nearby. The temple's dome-shaped facade is illuminated with a variety of colours in the evenings, and the colours are constantly changing. Shri Ganesha's statue is precisely beneath the dome. Ashtvinayak figures are etched inside the pillars.

A week-long fair or festival known as the "Bandra fair" in the Konkan region follows the yearly feast and is attended by thousands of visitors, pilgrims, and devotees each year.

The City of Dreams

Mumbai is one of the most populated cities in India, with a population estimate of 20 million. Mumbai is a desirable location to move to because it is not only the financial centre of India but also the birthplace of Bollywood, one of the most well-known Indian film industries. Since there are so many opportunities here, Mumbai is frequently referred to as "the City of Dreams."

https://i.pinimg.com/736x/a4/59/f7/a459f7b79b2d5e81def83f0f6b9bac42.jpg

Mumbai, the state capital of Maharashtra, is referred to as the "city of dreams" or "Mayanagri." It has earned this appellation over the years due to the seemingly endless chances it provides for both individuals living within and outside of Indian-populated states.

Mumbai Port's geographic position on the west coast made it a commerce and economic hub for the west. Mumbai became affluent and a powerhouse for business because to the two trade businesses. Mumbai became affluent thanks to the opium trade and the textile sector.

Seven marshy islands off the west coast of the Indian subcontinent previously made up Mumbai, a city where everyone believes that dreams come true. The islands were historically home to fisherman known as kolis. The Silahara Hindu kings of Puri (810–1260 CE) who also constructed the city's historic Walkeshwar temple complex governed the islands. The islands seem to have integrated into the Silaharas' network of north Konkan ports' marine trade. Hindus, Muslims, Arabs, Persians, and Jews were among the traders and seamen who arrived as a result of this international trade.

The only city in India included in the PWC "City of Opportunities" report is Mumbai. a city that may offer opportunities to both its native citizens and newcomers. It is understandable why so many people have flocked to this unparalleled land of opportunities since its inception.

In the middle of the 19th century, Mumbai (then Bombay) overtook Kolkata as the second-largest commerce centre in the world (then Calcutta). Mumbai was already the nation's financial hub and was experiencing an influx of people from other regions of the country by the time India attained independence.

Bombay was then majorly booming with textile, pharma and film industries. People came to Mumbai as it was not just a job destination, but also a land of opportunity.

Mumbai is a city that has always been supportive to people of every caste and creed. It is the land of opportunity where, despite the population, migrants keep coming to make their life better

Mumbai's architecture is intricate, extensive, and spectacular, from the breathtaking Bandra-Worli Sea Link to the immaculate white Haji Ali Dargah. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, whose Victorian architecture has resolutely stood through more than a century of events from terror attacks to freedom struggles, and Marine Drive, whose lights form an arc resembling a string of pearls called the Queen's Necklace, are all symbolic of Mumbai's allure to the rest of the subcontinent.

Mumbai is more than just the nation's film hub. This area is home to the majority of the city's top advertising agencies, media organisations, television studios, music production companies, and cultural movements. This area is home to some of the most renowned art institutions in the city, including the illustrious Jehangir Arts Gallery, which was a key player in the nation's contemporary art movement.

Mumbai- A City that Never Sleeps!

Mumbai is a city that never sleeps; it's active, alive, and bustling all the time. It is frequently called Bombay. The most contemporary city in India, it embodies the dynamic speed of modernisation and liberalisation. Seven islands formerly made up the city of Mumbai and were given to King Charles II as part of the dowry for his marriage to Portuguese Princess Catherine de Braganza. Mumbai has evolved throughout time into a place with lively markets, business establishments, and numerous diverse communities that reflect a cosmopolitan and stylish atmosphere rarely seen elsewhere.

Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, is known for its fast-paced lifestyle, which has led to the emergence of hordes of fast-food restaurants on practically every road that serve mouthwatering options like pav bhaji, bhel puri, and vada pav. It is the home of Bollywood, the Hindi film industry that makes the most movies globally.

Mumbai folks are extremely motivated and hardworking. The city is extremely vibrant and enthusiastic because of their "never say die" mentality. The exhilarating spirit that the city radiates will astound you everywhere you go, regardless of what hour you arrive.

LONDON- A Beauty for the “EYE”!

The United Kingdom's capital is a thriving cosmopolitan city. A trip to London is an intriguing and exciting adventure because of the contrast between outstanding ancient landmarks and a vibrant cultural landscape. Stroll around St. James Park, pay a visit to Westminster Abbey, stroll through Shoreditch, and enjoy a boat ride up the Thames. The fantastic shopping, infinite sights, friendly residents, and exciting nightlife of London cater to all types of visitors. Here's my comprehensive London travel guide, including with all of my recommendations for arranging your trip to England!

IMG CREDS: https://media.tacdn.com/media/attractions-splice-spp-674x446/09/93/6a/89.jpg

WHAT TO EXPECT IN LONDON?

London is one of the more expensive European capitals, so be prepared!

Language: English is by far the most spoken language in the city.

Currency: The British Pound, which is usually exchanged at around 100 INR per pound.

Credit Cards and Banks: ATMs can be found on practically every shopping street, and there are several bureau de change around the city. Almost every retailer accepts Mastercard and Visa.

Climate: The climate is generally mild, with temperatures rarely reaching excessively high or low levels, though an umbrella or raincoat should be carried at all times of the year.

Temperatures are normally a few degrees above freezing throughout the cold season, which lasts from December to February.

Warm season: Summer temperatures are still pleasant between June and August, with highs rarely exceeding 25 degrees Celsius.

TRAVEL TIP

Because London is a large city, and all large
cities have traffic, moving between areas can take some time.

The Underground, or "the Tube," is the greatest way to move about London. You may even take the Tube into the city centre from Heathrow Airport (LHR), which I recommend. It's simple to navigate and you'll be able to see anything you want to see. Make sure to purchase an Oyster card, which you can reload and use on the Tube as well as city buses.

Bus: Taking the city bus is a terrific way to view the sights while getting around. Instead of worrying about exact change for the bus fare, get an Oyster card.

Taxis: London's "black taxis" can be found all throughout the city and operate on metre basis, however they are the most expensive mode of transportation. A majority of them take credit cards.

The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey are all located in Westminster, London's tourist centre. The Strangers' Gallery of the House of Commons allows visitors to observe the British government in operation. The renowned Trafalgar Square is located in the centre of Westminster. You can't miss the magnificent museums, galleries, cultural spaces, and historic buildings.

IMG CREDS:https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/images/britains-queen-elizabeth-ii-leaves-buckingham-palace-in-news-photo-1624550959.jpg?crop=1xw:0.95359xh;center,top&resize=1200:*/https://www.westminster-abbey.org/media/9031/quire-looking-west.jpg

Get down at Charing Cross and go to the Cafe on the Square to spend at least a couple of hours strolling around and photographing. The Shangri-La Hotel bar has the greatest view in London. It's less expensive than the London Eye, plus you can drink champagne while you're up there.

A complete experience with a treat to your eyes and pocket if you’re looking for a lavish holiday with your loved ones!!!!

“SALTT”- A Must Have!

Pre-covid If you had asked me to travel down to Karjat for a gourmet restaurant, I would have probably denied. But, since we've been limited in our travel, it's become even more clear that there are numerous locations closer to home! Mumbai certainly does not provide the distinct feeling that Saltt does, which is just a short drive away and offers a high-quality dining experience in Karjat! Aaliya Ahuja, 22, decided to build 'Saltt' on her family's farmhouse, and it's the perfect spot for a weekend vacation!

The Ambiance - It 's like being on Vacation!!

This rustic bistro has its roots on the Ahujas' farmland. The family has been in the travel retail business for decades, operating as duty-free operators in India and nations such as Sri Lanka. And they somehow convey their knowledge to this posh eatery. Saltt is located 70 kilometres from Mumbai, on a 170-acre plot of land immediately as you reach Karjat, on the family-owned Oleander farms.

As you approach the restaurant, which is housed in a barn-like structure with a distinctively rustic look, you are greeted by a floral-lined pathway. The family constructed this restaurant with their love for nature in mind! In a nutshell, Saltt is ideal for a romantic date or a meaningful get-together with your loved ones.

A Pet Zoo and Vintage Cars!

Saltt already has a cafe, a bar, and a vintage car area where you can view the family's personal vintage car collection. Don't leave your pets at home because this location is pet-friendly! Is it necessary for me to add that you should not forget about your children? The Ahujas intend to build rooms and turn this beautiful location into a resort. But, for the time being, a fun day out with your family or friends, nice food, and a farm-like setting to breathe in the pure air is ideal!

Surprisingly, a petting zoo with iguanas, bunnies, and hedgehogs can be found. A Maruti 800, Ambassador, Fiat, and Morris 8, which originally belonged to MF Hussain, are among the vehicles on display. That's quite a feat, isn't it?

The Food - Craving some Comfort Food!

The cuisine is diverse, ranging from European fare to pan-Asian fare. Don't be discouraged if you enjoy Indian and street-style cuisine. You won't have to travel far for a day break if you always dine in the city. Plan a surprise date or a friend's birthday celebration here, away from your city's packed restaurants.

Pav Bhaji, Chole Kulche, Bharwan Aloo Ki Chaat,  are some of the dining options. Botanical cocktails, Caprese pizza, vegetarian biryani, and salt caramel mousse are all worth trying. These meal alternatives will most likely transfer you to the bylanes of Old Delhi if you are a Delhiite!

Without alcohol, a meal for two costs around Rs2,500.
