LONDON- A Beauty for the “EYE”!

The United Kingdom's capital is a thriving cosmopolitan city. A trip to London is an intriguing and exciting adventure because of the contrast between outstanding ancient landmarks and a vibrant cultural landscape. Stroll around St. James Park, pay a visit to Westminster Abbey, stroll through Shoreditch, and enjoy a boat ride up the Thames. The fantastic shopping, infinite sights, friendly residents, and exciting nightlife of London cater to all types of visitors. Here's my comprehensive London travel guide, including with all of my recommendations for arranging your trip to England!

WHAT TO EXPECT IN LONDON?

London is one of the more expensive European capitals, so be prepared!

Language: English is by far the most spoken language in the city.

Currency: The British Pound, which is usually exchanged at around 100 INR per pound.

Credit Cards and Banks: ATMs can be found on practically every shopping street, and there are several bureau de change around the city. Almost every retailer accepts Mastercard and Visa.

Climate: The climate is generally mild, with temperatures rarely reaching excessively high or low levels, though an umbrella or raincoat should be carried at all times of the year.

Temperatures are normally a few degrees above freezing throughout the cold season, which lasts from December to February.

Warm season: Summer temperatures are still pleasant between June and August, with highs rarely exceeding 25 degrees Celsius.

TRAVEL TIP

Because London is a large city, and all large
cities have traffic, moving between areas can take some time.

The Underground, or "the Tube," is the greatest way to move about London. You may even take the Tube into the city centre from Heathrow Airport (LHR), which I recommend. It's simple to navigate and you'll be able to see anything you want to see. Make sure to purchase an Oyster card, which you can reload and use on the Tube as well as city buses.

Bus: Taking the city bus is a terrific way to view the sights while getting around. Instead of worrying about exact change for the bus fare, get an Oyster card.

Taxis: London's "black taxis" can be found all throughout the city and operate on metre basis, however they are the most expensive mode of transportation. A majority of them take credit cards.

The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey are all located in Westminster, London's tourist centre. The Strangers' Gallery of the House of Commons allows visitors to observe the British government in operation. The renowned Trafalgar Square is located in the centre of Westminster. You can't miss the magnificent museums, galleries, cultural spaces, and historic buildings.

Get down at Charing Cross and go to the Cafe on the Square to spend at least a couple of hours strolling around and photographing. The Shangri-La Hotel bar has the greatest view in London. It's less expensive than the London Eye, plus you can drink champagne while you're up there.

A complete experience with a treat to your eyes and pocket if you’re looking for a lavish holiday with your loved ones!!!!

“SALTT”- A Must Have!

Pre-covid If you had asked me to travel down to Karjat for a gourmet restaurant, I would have probably denied. But, since we've been limited in our travel, it's become even more clear that there are numerous locations closer to home! Mumbai certainly does not provide the distinct feeling that Saltt does, which is just a short drive away and offers a high-quality dining experience in Karjat! Aaliya Ahuja, 22, decided to build 'Saltt' on her family's farmhouse, and it's the perfect spot for a weekend vacation!

The Ambiance - It 's like being on Vacation!!

This rustic bistro has its roots on the Ahujas' farmland. The family has been in the travel retail business for decades, operating as duty-free operators in India and nations such as Sri Lanka. And they somehow convey their knowledge to this posh eatery. Saltt is located 70 kilometres from Mumbai, on a 170-acre plot of land immediately as you reach Karjat, on the family-owned Oleander farms.

As you approach the restaurant, which is housed in a barn-like structure with a distinctively rustic look, you are greeted by a floral-lined pathway. The family constructed this restaurant with their love for nature in mind! In a nutshell, Saltt is ideal for a romantic date or a meaningful get-together with your loved ones.

A Pet Zoo and Vintage Cars!

Saltt already has a cafe, a bar, and a vintage car area where you can view the family's personal vintage car collection. Don't leave your pets at home because this location is pet-friendly! Is it necessary for me to add that you should not forget about your children? The Ahujas intend to build rooms and turn this beautiful location into a resort. But, for the time being, a fun day out with your family or friends, nice food, and a farm-like setting to breathe in the pure air is ideal!

Surprisingly, a petting zoo with iguanas, bunnies, and hedgehogs can be found. A Maruti 800, Ambassador, Fiat, and Morris 8, which originally belonged to MF Hussain, are among the vehicles on display. That's quite a feat, isn't it?

The Food - Craving some Comfort Food!

The cuisine is diverse, ranging from European fare to pan-Asian fare. Don't be discouraged if you enjoy Indian and street-style cuisine. You won't have to travel far for a day break if you always dine in the city. Plan a surprise date or a friend's birthday celebration here, away from your city's packed restaurants.

Pav Bhaji, Chole Kulche, Bharwan Aloo Ki Chaat,  are some of the dining options. Botanical cocktails, Caprese pizza, vegetarian biryani, and salt caramel mousse are all worth trying. These meal alternatives will most likely transfer you to the bylanes of Old Delhi if you are a Delhiite!

Without alcohol, a meal for two costs around Rs2,500.
